Movie urges Boehner to stop crying and tax the rich to pay for the Unemployment Insurance extension
WASHINGTON, D.C. – More than 8,200 District of Columbia residents face losing their economic lifeline in the coming months if unemployment insurance benefits are not extended by Congress. OurDC will bring more than 100 residents to view the John Boehner movie, Why’s He Crying? We’re the Ones without Jobs. The demonstration calls on Boehner to support taxing the wealthy and corporations to pay for the extension.
Several D.C. residents who face losing their benefits will attend the movie screening and protest. The demonstration also promises a popcorn surprise.
