CPAC ATTENDEE’S STUNNED BY HUNDREDS OF PROTESTERS;
Calls to End Tax Loopholes for the Rich and Income Inequality Shake Elite Conservatives
Peaceful protesters greeted by throngs of police as Governor 1% address’s Conservative Carnival
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Over 500 unemployed, students and frustrated east coast Americans stood together with OurDC to call for an end to tax loopholes for the rich and corporate America. The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC )and its national standard bearers continue to push for failed strategies that have created unconscionable income gaps between the rich and the working class. They must be stopped.
Outside of the CPAC gathering at the Marriott Wardman hotel several hundred protesters have traveled from to D.C .from cities like Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York — the demonstrators first came together at the Take Back the Capitol week of protests. At CPAC they stand together again demanding a nation that works for everyone, not just the 1%.
“What’s going on inside is truly a conservative carnival of the .01 percent of the 1%. CPAC has thrown the average American into the bottom of the economic pit they’ve dug for us. It’s time we put an end to their digging and support polices the help, not bury the 99% ,” says John Butler an unemployed OurDC supporter.
We are ridiculing this radical, ruinous annual political carnival of the 1% and its new poster boy, Governor 1% Romney. CPAC has engineered and maintained tax loopholes for corporations and the richest 1% that have killed the American Dream for the 99%.
